"I spent years inside the systems that were supposed to help communities. I watched them fail in the same way every time by assuming they knew better than the people they were trying to serve. We built Entrepreneurial Ecosystems because I believe communities already know what they need."

Allie Hart is a co-founder and Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and a scholar-practitioner with deep expertise in international development, conflict prevention, and regional security across the Middle East and Black Sea. Her work is grounded in years of on-the-ground experience living and working in Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Romania, Türkiye, and Georgia, regions where she witnessed firsthand both the limitations of traditional aid models and the untapped potential of local entrepreneurship.

Allie's path to co-founding Entrepreneurial Ecosystems began in Jordan, where she was studying Arabic and met her future co-founder, Melody Verot. The two shared a growing disillusionment with conventional international development approaches and a conviction that sustainable change required a different model, one rooted in building local economic capacity rather than dependency.

She previously held a Title VIII Black Sea Research Fellowship through the Middle East Institute and currently serves as Coordinator of the Program on Georgian Studies at Harvard University's Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. Her academic and policy work spans some of the world's most complex geopolitical environments, informed by her time as an intern with the UNDP's Governance and Peacebuilding Team in Amman, a non-resident research intern at the Hudson Institute, and her 2023 OSCE-UNODA Scholarship for Peace and Security, which focused on disarmament, non-proliferation, and advancing women's roles in the security sector.

Allie's career reflects a consistent commitment to bridging policy, research, and real-world impact, and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems is the culmination of that mission.
